After Reunion
Thanks for sharing all those wonderful photos on the blog. How amazing that after 31 years, we are still connected as we were at school.
I am so very grateful for having all of you as my classmates!
Let's use this blog to keep up with one another. I propose we'd post some up-to-date basic information (no personal phone numbers or email address though) about ourselves and our families (including photos). Lin Lih-jane and Aurora Chiang have already done so.
Tell us what you've been doing -- your family, work, hobbies...etc. Send pictures, of course. Spread the words; volunteer others is strongly encouraged!
Isabel

Dear Isabel and all;
I just came back from Pasadena, California, where my younger son is a freshman. We joined the freshman parent's orientation, that we leaned about the academia life and dorm life of the students.
It is one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever visited Kangway is lucky to be there!!
The entire undergraduate has only 900 students, which reminded me of our "Elite Old Wen Tzao", where everybody knew everybody and the principal and our teachers could call our names.
Don't you miss that? Sometimes, I really wish it has maintained its elitness, petiness and cleaness....etc. Nostagia, nostagia again. (of course, who will not miss the rice patties that showed us the season;the canteen that we purchased our Siao Mei Icecream; the ditch that Mr. Soto fell from his motocycle while looking at girls; the mangos trees that Isabel used to throw stones at; the secret hidden corner that Ana used to hide a few minutes before the exams.. the iron gate that I used to curse when I could not go out, feeling like prisoner...)....
Well, Wen Tzao has changes, and we shall give our blessing to our Alma Mater.
SL has many classmates in sourthern California, and two of the classmates arranged a mini-reunion for us. They hosted the party at their amazing fragrant garden surrounded by ripe persimmons, oranges, grapefruits, apple trees. The weather was perfect, with full moon hanging on the clear blue night sky. We watched a short film ourdoor that some classmates took fifteen years ago, while the kids were little and running around. It was as much fun as looking at these old pictures from Wen Tzao times.
Well, California is indeed a golden state. I know many of you live there. Enjoy it. We will save it for retirement.
Eugenia, you shall come visit California, sometimes, it reminds me of Pintong, your hometown, where palm trees and fruits are growing happy and tall.
Honey, I don't remember the name of the girl that I mentioend, but she majored in enviromental engineering, not machanical.
Aurora, you are fortunate to meet Ursula's daughter, who is the sweetest girl I have met.
Your daughter looks like an authentic copy of the "young Aurora".Remember our Miss Espana-- The choice of Senor Soto.
Catalina, while I was walking on the streets in Pasadena, near our hotel, Sheroton, I saw a street called, Catalina. So, I was right, when I wrote about "Pasadena and Catalina".
Well, thanks for reading.

Dear Rita:
Do you remember my famous saying:
All my friends are talking about retirement but my career hasn't started it yet. My career is no career.
Nowadays, I spend most of my time reading, writing and translating. I try to read in three languages.
Have you heard that when you speak your mother tongue, it is as easy as breathing; when you speak a foreign language, it is as though you are swimming. I am not a good swimmer so by the time I go to sleep, I am always very tired.
Well, I have a dream to publish a bilingual poetry in translation. I am trying to translate my favorite Spanish and Latinamerican poets.
Rita,
Check your computer. I have no problem writing longer comments. The only thing is I can enlarge the outer frame, but not the inner fram. Check with some computer experts about this problem.
Good luck.
Lolita

I wonder
I wonder
how many classmates have visited this blog.
I wonder
why I spent so much time viewing those pictures.
I wonder
why some of you never leave a message.
I wonder
why I wonder....

Some may not know about this blog, so friends, please inform your friends by phone.
Some may not know how to access the blog. Ana Maria Ku, for one, told me that she is tech challenged. So, someone in Taipei may want to show her "how".
Some may be too busy. For sure, not everyone is as free as Maria Eugenia and Lolita.
Yet
this blog is patient;
it awaits quietly for
your visit;
just once (at least)
till our next rendezvous.
